Presenting The Electrifying Alfa Romeo Milano A Stylish Leap Into The EV Future

Alfa Romeo is making a bold leap into the electric vehicle arena with its sleek Milano SUV, marking the Italian brand’s first foray into the EV Industry. While the stylish subcompact crossover will also be available with a three-cylinder hybrid powertrain, unfortunately, neither variant is slated for sale in the United States.

The Milano makes its electrifying debut with two single-motor, front-wheel-drive electric powertrain options, delivering either 154 or 237 horsepower. Additionally, Alfa Romeo offers a turbocharged three-cylinder hybrid powertrain, boasting 134 horsepower and the choice of front- or all-wheel drive. This diversification of powertrains underscores Alfa Romeo’s commitment to electrification, with plans to exclusively offer electric vehicles starting in 2027.

While rumors have swirled about high-performance successors to iconic Alfa Romeo models, the Milano breaks the mold with its innovative approach to electrification. Expected to hit European markets later this year, this compact crossover, measuring just 164 inches in length, won’t be gracing American roads. Despite its shared platform with the Jeep Avenger and the Fiat 600e, the Milano stands out as the most attractive of the trio.

Embodying Alfa Romeo’s signature style, the Milano exudes athleticism with its sporty stance, ornate wheels, and distinctive grille treatments. Whether adorned with the brand’s serpent-and-cross logo or the classic Alfa Romeo script, the Milano exudes sophistication and performance from every angle.

Inside, the Milano continues to impress with a driver-centric cockpit featuring a sporty steering wheel and a cutting-edge gauge cluster housing with a 10.3-inch display. The central touchscreen is thoughtfully angled towards the driver, while unique design elements, such as air conditioning vents shaped like the brand’s Quadrifoglio badge, add a touch of elegance.

In terms of performance, the Milano offers impressive capabilities, particularly in its electric variant. With a single electric motor and a 54.0-kWh battery, the Milano Elettrica delivers either 154 or 237 horsepower, offering a range of approximately 250 miles on Europe’s WLTP test cycle.

Meanwhile, the Milano Ibrida hybrid model combines a turbocharged three-cylinder engine with a 28-hp electric motor, delivering a total output of 134 horsepower and prioritizing electric driving in urban environments. For those seeking a more spirited driving experience, the Veloce trim of the Milano boasts enhanced performance features, including a lowered stance, upgraded brakes, and a mechanical self-locking Torsen differential.

While orders have already commenced for the Milano Speciale launch edition in Europe, American consumers will have to remain patient in their anticipation of an electric Alfa Romeo hitting stateside showrooms.
