Hyundai is making a bold move in the commercial vehicle market with its Staria Load cargo van, offering nationwide drive-away pricing and boasting a robust supply chain. The base model of the Staria Load, equipped with either twin swing doors or a lift-up tailgate, is available at a competitive price of $49,490 drive-away across the country.
This attractive offer represents significant savings of $1391.50 in Victoria and $1279.08 in New South Wales. However, this deal is set to expire on April 30, 2024. While the Crew Van and Premium models do not currently benefit from nationwide drive-away pricing, they offer additional features such as a second row of seating in the Crew Van and a richer feature list in the Premium variant.
In addition to competitive pricing, Hyundai also provides a 10 percent discount on its range of accessory packs. The company emphasizes its strong stock of the Staria Load nationwide, highlighting the contrast with the Toyota HiAce, the segment’s best-selling van, which is experiencing extended wait times.
Hyundai Australia has been proactive in securing incremental supply, boasting 944 Staria Loads in dealer stock and 210 in compounds. Furthermore, the company maintains a healthy production pipeline, with 689 units currently en route on ships to Australia. To facilitate access to available stock, Hyundai has integrated buy and sell buttons on its website, allowing customers to connect directly with the dealer network.
This initiative aims to provide real-time updates on stock availability and enable customers to seize favorable deals without delay. All variants of the Staria Load are equipped with a potent 2.2-liter turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine generating 130kW of power and 430Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. While the Staria People Mover offers the option of all-wheel drive, the Staria Load is exclusively front-wheel drive.
Despite facing stiff competition in the commercial van segment, Hyundai’s Staria Load has garnered notable success, with 802 units sold in the first quarter of 2024, securing its position as the third best-selling van in its segment. While the LDV G10 narrowly surpassed it with 828 sales, the Toyota HiAce remains the dominant force with 2660 sales, claiming a significant 47.1 percent market share compared to Hyundai’s 14.2 percent.
