Ford has reopened orders for the 2024 F-150 Lightning, and this time around, customers will find reduced prices on several trim levels, including the XLT, Flash, and Lariat models. Among these adjustments, the Flash trim stands out with the most significant price drop, slashing $5500 from its previous starting price of $75,590 down to $70,090.
Meanwhile, the XLT now starts at $65,090, and the extended-range battery-equipped Lariat is priced at $79,090, marking reductions of $2000 and $2500, respectively. The base Pro and top-trim Platinum retain their original prices of $57,090 and $87,090, respectively. These price adjustments coincide with several enhancements to the Lightning’s features.
A new vapor injection heat pump system has been introduced to regulate battery temperatures, while updates to the charging display on the instrument cluster now provide more detailed information, including current charge status, charging speeds, and estimated finish time.
Additionally, Ford has standardized its towing technology package on all trims except the base Pro model, and Blue Cruise hands-free driving is now available on upper trims. Other improvements include keyless entry, a walk-away locking function, and automatic activation of the ProPower onboard generator upon unlocking the truck.
Price fluctuations are not uncommon for the F-150 Lightning, with Ford having adjusted prices multiple times in the past. These changes come amidst Ford’s decision to scale back production of the F-150 Lightning, effective April 1, as part of efforts to align production with customer demand. While Ford anticipates continued growth in EV sales, the adjustment reflects a more conservative outlook compared to initial estimates.
