In a grand reveal in 2022, Lotus revealed the Eletre, marking its first foray into the SUV. Manufactured in China, specifically Wuhan, the Eletre is set to hit the US market in late 2024 for the 2025 model year.

Marketed as the world’s first electric hyper-SUV, the Sino-British crossover comes in three variants in China and the UK: Eletre, Eletre S, and Eletre R. However, the US market receives two versions: the Eletre and Eletre R.

Starting prices range from $107,000 to $145,000, with Lotus also confirming pricing for Canada at $126,800 to $178,500. The Eletre boasts two permanent magnet electric motors, with the Eletre R enhancing performance with a two-speed gearbox for the rear drive unit.

Performance-wise, the Eletre impresses with a WLTP combined range of 304 to 354 miles, while the sportier Eletre R achieves 254 to 280 miles. Notably, Lotus Technology, the electric vehicle division behind the Eletre, went public in February 2024, indicating the company’s strategic direction towards electrification.

With its cutting-edge technology and performance capabilities, the 2025 Lotus Eletre is poised to make a significant impact in the luxury electric SUV market. From its rapid charging capabilities to its dynamic driving characteristics, the Eletre represents a bold step forward for Lotus of electrification.
