Toyota is shaking things up in Japan with its Land Cruiser lineup. Joining the luxurious 300 Series and classic 70 Series is the all-new Land Cruiser 250 Series, now the core model in the family.
Toyota’s Land Cruiser
The Land Cruiser 250 Series is all about practicality and off-road capability, serving as the go-to choice for those who value rugged performance. Built on the same GA-F platform as its upscale sibling, the 300 Series, the 250 Series boasts features like electric power steering and a Stabilizer with a Disconnection Mechanism for superior handling both on and off the road.
Unlike its hybrid-powered counterpart in the U.S., the Japanese version of the Land Cruiser 250 Series offers a choice between potent gasoline and diesel engines. The flagship 2.8-liter turbodiesel engine packs a punch with 201 horsepower and an impressive 369 lb-ft of torque, while the 2.7-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine delivers 161 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque, prioritizing fuel efficiency with its high compression ratio.
With the introduction of the Land Cruiser 250 Series, Toyota is expanding its offering to cater to a wider range of customers, ensuring that there’s a Land Cruiser model for every adventure enthusiast in Japan.
