The racing team based in Faenza is in a tight competition with Haas to be the best of the rest, behind the top teams like Red Bull and Ferrari. It’s not easy because there aren’t many points for teams like them. RB is currently ahead with seven points, but they had a tough race in China and didn’t finish, which hurt them.
Because the teams are so close in performance, any improvements they can make are really important. That’s why RB is bringing some upgrades to the Miami race, even though it’s a short sprint event.
Laurent Mekies, the boss of the team, talked about how intense the competition is. He said, “We’ll have an update in Miami to help us try to keep surfing on the top of that very edge.” He also mentioned that nothing is guaranteed, and they have to do everything perfectly to get even a single point.
RB seems to be a bit faster than Haas sometimes, but Haas still manages to score points. Mekies explained that the difference between the two teams is so tiny that they can’t be sure who’s better. Sometimes RB is a little ahead, sometimes Haas is. It’s always a tough battle.
But Mekies sees this competition as a great opportunity for his team to get better. He says it’s like a tough training session where they have to be perfect in every aspect of racing to get even one point. If they make any mistakes, they’ll lose that chance.
