After the sprint race in Jerez on Saturday, the current world champion, Bagnaia, got caught between Marco Bezzecchi and Brad Binder, causing him to crash out. Now, he’s 42 points behind Jorge Martin, who won the sprint. Even though the stewards investigated, they didn’t take any action, which Bagnaia hinted he disagreed with.

When asked about the crash, Bagnaia called it a “racing incident” and said it’s up to the race officials to decide. He didn’t want to blame anyone but suggested that overtaking on the curb might not be the best way.

He criticized the sprint race, saying that sometimes there seems to be no plan for overtaking, just riders trying to pass each other without much thought. He mentioned seeing many crashes during the race because of this.

Binder, who also crashed out later, explained that he lost control of his bike after a corner, which caused him to be between Bagnaia and Bezzecchi. Bezzecchi, who also fell later, felt he could still complete the overtake despite running wide. He didn’t blame Binder and chose not to say much because he felt criticized whenever he spoke up.
