Chevrolet has revealed the pricing for its redesigned 2025 Chevy Equinox, signaling a shift in the compact SUV’s lineup. With a starting price of $29,995, the base model sees a $2000 increase compared to the outgoing 2024 version. However, the removal of the old entry-level LS trim means that the new entry point, the LT trim, is $895 cheaper than before.

The 2025 Equinox lineup now comprises the LT, RS, and Activ trim levels. Both the sporty RS and the rugged Activ start at $34,395, offering distinct styling and features to cater to different preferences. All-wheel drive remains a $2,000 option across the lineup. Despite the price bump for the base model, the perspective on cost is nuanced.

While the entry-level Equinox now requires a higher investment, the revamped trim structure offers more value for certain configurations. The LT trim, in particular, presents a more affordable option compared to its predecessor. The RS trim boasts a unique grille and standard 19-inch wheels, with optional 20-inch wheels and a contrasting black roof.

On the other hand, the Activ trim features 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tires and offers a contrasting white roof as an add-on option. Under the hood, the 2025 Equinox retains the 175-hp 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine from the previous model. However, it now comes paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) instead of a six-speed automatic.

While there’s speculation about a potential plug-in hybrid variant, the current lineup offers a choice between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, with the latter delivering more torque. With the introduction of the 2025 Equinox, Chevrolet expands its SUV lineup, offering three models priced below $30,000.

The subcompact Trax and Trailblazer come in at $21,495 and $23,395, respectively. Additionally, anticipation builds for the Equinox EV, slated to hit the market with starting prices ranging from $43,295 to $46,795. The new gas-powered Equinox is now available for ordering, with deliveries expected later this year.
