Since its inception many years ago, Benjie’s Cafe Racer has consistently produced an array of remarkable masterpieces. Alongside their renowned full-fledged projects, the company sustains its operations with a robust selection of parts fabrication. Quality remains paramount, and describing BCR’s catalog as extensive would be an understatement.

However, our focus today is on their striking one-off projects, particularly a Triumph Thruxton cafe racer with steampunk influences. Commencing with a 2008 Thruxton 900 as the base, Benjie’s started on a transformation journey, stripping away the motorcycle’s bodywork, suspension, exhaust, and more upon its arrival at their headquarters.

The makeover commenced at the front end, where a Harley-Davidson wheel and Honda CBR1000RR inverted forks were installed. The CBR also contributed its twin brake rotors, while the Harley hoop underwent a reconstruction with stainless-steel spokes. With the bike’s footwear revamped, attention shifted to the cockpit.

A set of clip-on handlebars and an analog dial from a Harley model were incorporated into the cockpit area. The speedometer found its place within a custom housing, accompanied by LED warning lights. In terms of powertrain modifications, the original clutch mechanism was replaced with a Ducati 900SS hydraulic unit.

Custom velocity stacks coupled with Keihin FCR carburetors adorn the air intake, complemented by a bespoke exhaust system featuring drilled heat shields and reverse megaphone silencers. While these mechanical alterations are impressive, it’s the new bodywork that truly distinguishes this creation.

To enhance practicality, fiberglass fenders were added, seamlessly blending function with aesthetics. Stainless-steel foot pegs were strategically placed for ergonomic appeal, adhering to the cafe racer theme. Instead of concealing their metal handiwork beneath paint, all bodywork components were meticulously polished to a mirror finish.
