Ocon and Gasly, who race for Alpine, had a tough start to the 2024 season. Their team, Alpine, is one of three teams that haven’t scored any points yet.
To improve their performance, Alpine introduced a new floor for their cars in China, and they’ll use it again in Miami. They also worked on making their car lighter.
Off the track, Alpine hired Sanchez as their main technical director. He will oversee the team’s new structure, which includes three other technical directors.
Ocon thinks Sanchez’s hiring shows that Alpine is serious about getting better. He sees it as a sign that the team wants to improve and not stay where they are.
Gasly also believes that Alpine is improving, but he knows that it takes time for these changes to show on the track. He acknowledges that the team is putting in a lot of effort, even though their results haven’t improved much yet.
He says that it’s important to understand what’s working and what’s not, and then figure out how to fix it.
