Audi is one of the places where Sainz might go next after leaving Ferrari soon. Audi has wanted him to join their F1 team in 2026 when they change the Sauber team’s name.
Recently, Helmut Marko from Red Bull said Sainz got a really good offer from Audi. Red Bull is thinking about replacing Sergio Perez for 2025. Some Spanish news said Sainz said no to Audi’s offer already.
Sainz told F1 reporters before the Miami Grand Prix that the news about him rejecting Audi’s offer is not true. He also said he doesn’t have any guarantee from Audi about getting a seat. He wants to think carefully before making any big decisions.
He said, “I need time to decide. I want to look at all the options before choosing.”
Sainz thinks it’s a good move for Audi to get Nico Hulkenberg for 2026. Hulkenberg is currently driving for Haas. Sainz thinks Hulkenberg is a great driver and a good choice for Audi.
At the Hard Rock Stadium, Sainz said again that he can’t control everything about his future in F1. He will have to wait to see what happens. But he’s still talking to teams and trying to move things forward.
He said, “We’re still talking to people and trying to make progress. But we have to wait for decisions to be made by others too.”
