Nissan Australia has announced that it has secured an additional supply of the sought-after Z Nismo model following the rapid sell-out of its initial allocation. The company revealed that deliveries of the Z Nismo will commence shortly.
Gone are the days of “first in, best dressed” at Nissan Australia. After initially offering just 100 units of the Nissan Z Nismo last year, the company has decided to make the sports car available for order through its dealership network, treating it like any other vehicle in its lineup.
Furthermore, Nissan has stated that deliveries are scheduled to start “almost immediately.” Priced at $94,000 before on-road costs, the Z Nismo retains its pricing from last year, commanding nearly $20,000 more than the standard Z model. The initial allocation of the Z Nismo, which was made available for online ordering on August 10, 2023, sold out in a remarkable 53 minutes.
Nissan Australia’s managing director, Andrew Humberstone, expressed his excitement about meeting the demand for the iconic vehicle. He stated, “As soon as we saw the pent-up demand for the Nissan Z Nismo and the speed at which our first allocation was exhausted, we knew there would be fans of this iconic vehicle who had missed out on securing one for themselves.” To mark the occasion of the Z Nismo’s availability, Nissan released a video showcasing the vehicle navigating the challenging terrain of Lake Mountain Road in Victoria.
Under the hood, the Z Nismo boasts an enhanced version of the regular Z’s twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine, delivering 309kW of power and 520Nm of torque, an increase of 11kW and 45Nm, respectively. Nissan claims to have achieved these higher outputs through various improvements, including enhanced cooling, revised electronic wastegate control for increased turbocharged boost, and GT-R Nismo-inspired independent ignition spark timing.
The Z Nismo comes exclusively with an “enhanced” nine-speed automatic transmission and rides on wider 19-inch Rays wheels with larger brakes compared to the standard model. The suspension has been tuned with stiffer components, including springs, bushings, dampers, and stabilizer bars, resulting in enhanced handling. Additionally, the chassis has been reinforced for improved rigidity, and the steering rack features stiffer mounting bushings.
Visually, the Z Nismo sets itself apart from the standard Z with aggressive styling elements such as canards, unique side sills, grille, and rear spoiler, along with distinctive red accents.
Inside, the cabin features unique Recaro bucket seats upholstered in leather and Alcantara, complemented by a leather/Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel and Nismo-specific graphics. With the Z Nismo now available for order through Nissan’s dealer network, Nismo fans have another opportunity to get their hands on this high-performance sports car.
