Max Verstappen continued his streak of success in Formula 1 by securing his seventh consecutive pole position in the Miami Grand Prix. This comes after he also clinched pole in the sprint race on Friday and won that sprint race earlier today.

However, similar to the sprint qualifying, many drivers struggled to maintain consistency in their performance during the final shootout in Q3. Verstappen’s time of 1m27.241s from his first Q3 run remained unbeaten, as he and his rivals failed to make significant improvements on their final runs.

Verstappen attributed the challenging conditions to the hot weather and the slippery track surface, which made it difficult for drivers to predict how their tires would perform throughout the lap. He described the situation as “guessing” and noted the inconsistency in tire performance.

He expressed satisfaction with the setup changes made to his Red Bull car since the sprint race, which improved the car’s handling and made it feel more connected and predictable.

Despite starting the grand prix with both Ferrari drivers behind him on the grid, Verstappen remained confident in his team’s abilities and focused on optimizing his own performance. He emphasized the importance of finding the right balance in the race and believed that if they could achieve that, they would be competitive.

Verstappen’s comments reflect the challenges posed by the unpredictable track conditions in Miami but also demonstrate his confidence in his team’s ability to adapt and perform well in the race.
