MotoGP is making big changes for 2027. They’re planning to make the engines smaller, from 1000cc down to 850cc. This hasn’t happened since 2007. The goal is to make the bikes slower and safer, especially on the current tracks.

They’ve also decided to cut down on aerodynamics. This has been a big deal in recent years, but it’s not always good for the races. So, they’re making rules to limit the size of aerodynamic parts on the bikes.

They’re also banning some devices that help with ride height, like the ones used at the start of the race. And they’re making other small changes, like reducing the number of engines teams can use and making the bikes a bit lighter.

The new rules will also introduce a system where manufacturers are ranked based on their performance. This will affect things like how much they can develop their engines and how many wildcards they can use.

One big change is that starting in 2027, all the fuel used in MotoGP will be sustainable, which means it won’t come from fossil fuels. They’re starting to do this already by using fuel that’s made partly from non-fossil materials.

The last time MotoGP made big changes like this was in 2016. They introduced a new electronics system to make the races more competitive. Since then, we’ve seen more manufacturers join the series and more exciting races.

There’s even talk that BMW might join MotoGP in the future, but they haven’t made any commitments yet. These changes are aimed at making MotoGP safer, more competitive, and more sustainable in the long run.
