The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is looking into Boeing once again. Boeing, the company that makes airplanes, told the FAA that they might have missed checking some important parts of the wings on some of their 787 Dreamliner planes. This is not good news. The FAA said Boeing told them about this problem in April. Now, the FAA is checking if Boeing workers wrote down false information about these planes.
To fix the problem, Boeing is checking every single Dreamliner plane that they are still making. The FAA says Boeing also needs to come up with a plan to fix the issues with the 787 planes that are already flying.
Boeing did not say anything about what the FAA said, but they shared an email from one of their bosses. In that email, the boss said they looked into the problem and found that it doesn’t make the planes unsafe to fly.
The FAA also told NPR (National Public Radio) that they are checking if Boeing really did all the inspections they were supposed to do, and if some Boeing workers lied about it. The FAA also said Boeing has to check all the 787 planes they are still making and make a plan to fix any problems with the planes that are already flying.
The FAA has been watching Boeing closely, especially after finding some mistakes in the planes back in 2022.
Boeing’s head of the 787 program, Scott Socker, said that an employee noticed something wrong in their factory and reported it. After looking into it, Boeing found out that some workers didn’t do a test they were supposed to, but they wrote down that they did.
Boeing told NPR that they are taking quick action to fix the problem and they are looking into the employees involved.
Boeing has been facing a lot of problems lately. In March, a former Boeing employee who talked about safety issues with the 787 planes was found dead. There have also been problems with other Boeing planes, like the 737 Max, which were involved in crashes that killed hundreds of people.
