Toyota Australia has revealed significant updates for the 2025 Defender SUV range, including a more potent diesel engine, a new special edition, revised option packages, and simplified choices. The renowned Defender, formerly known as the Land Rover Defender, is set to receive notable upgrades and specification changes for the upcoming model year.

The latest D350 3.0-liter turbo-diesel inline-six engine is the highlight of the 2025 updates, boasting an impressive power output of 258kW and a torque of 700Nm. This represents a substantial increase of 37kW and 50Nm compared to its predecessor, the D300 engine. Among the fresh additions to the lineup is the introduction of the Sedona Edition for the Defender 110. Inspired by the city of Sedona, Arizona, known for its striking red environment, this special edition features Sedona Red paint, previously seen on 130 models.

Based on the D350 X-Dynamic HSE variant, it showcases Ebony Windsor leather and Kvadrat upholstery, along with an Extended Black Pack exterior aesthetic, including black badging, skid plates, grille, and 22-inch Gloss Black alloy wheels. Optional accessories such as a body-colored spare wheel cover, bonnet decal depicting Sedona’s topography, Gloss Black side steps, wheel arches, and side-mounted gear carrier are also available.

Furthermore, the 2025 lineup introduces several new option packages catering to diverse preferences. The Captain Chairs Pack for the Defender 130 incorporates two separate heated and ventilated chairs in the second row with armrests and winged headrests, complemented by cupholders behind the front center console.

Meanwhile, the Signature Interior Pack, available on X-Dynamic HSE models across all body styles and standard on X and V8 variants, enhances comfort with 14-way power-adjustable front seats, heating, ventilation, and memory features, along with heated and ventilated second-row seats. In addition to the above enhancements, the pricing structure for the 2025 Defender lineup reflects adjustments and additions across various models.

While some versions, such as the Defender 90 D250 S, see a price decrease, others like the Defender 90 P400 X experience an increase. Despite these changes, Toyota emphasizes its commitment to simplifying the Defender’s options list, offering nine distinct option packages to streamline the customization process for consumers.

With these updates, Toyota continues to increase the Defender’s appeal, reinforcing its position as a versatile and capable SUV option for discerning customers.
