In the recent qualifying for the IndyCar Indy GP, Spanish driver Palou secured the top spot with a late strong performance, finishing just ahead of Lundgaard on the 2.439-mile circuit.
Palou, who celebrated his fourth career pole and first on this circuit, shared, “Yeah, it’s a tricky place. Every time you can start up front in IndyCar it makes a difference.” He added that it was a special day for him as it was his mom’s birthday.
Lundgaard finished a close second, followed by Power in third place.
The qualifying session saw intense competition, with Power initially setting a fast time before Lundgaard and Palou took turns leading the pack.
In another group, Rosenqvist claimed the top spot, with Lundgaard coming in second. Armstrong and Rahal also put up strong performances.
Unfortunately, championship leader Herta faced difficulties and ended up in 12th place in his group, meaning he will start in 24th position for the race.
Despite the challenges and fierce competition, all drivers are gearing up for an exciting race on Sunday.
