The fate of Pontiac following the late 2000s bailout remains a subject of speculation, but one can imagine its potential trajectory through the lens of restomods. Schwartz Performance, based in Harvard, Illinois, brings this concept to life with a remarkable 1975 Pontiac Trans Am.

Originally equipped with a 455-cubic inch Pontiac big block V8, this Trans Am underwent a meticulous transformation, courtesy of Schwartz Performance. Stripped down to its bare body and chassis, it received extensive upgrades, including a top-of-the-line paint job and a custom-built G-Machine chassis.

Under the hood lies a 6.2-liter supercharged GM LT4 V8, delivering an astonishing 900 horsepower with upgrades to the valve-train and accessory drive. Paired with Ridetech adjustable coilovers and Baer Pro Plus six-piston brake disks, this Trans Am achieves supercar-level performance while retaining its classic charm.

With its blue and black-on-white paint job, complemented by Forgeline TA3 wheels, this once-ordinary muscle car now stands as a testament to modern engineering and classic design. While the cost of such a transformation may be substantial, it underscores the enduring appeal of Pontiac’s iconic Trans Am.
