Buescher had a close race in Kansas, narrowly losing to Kyle Larson. But in the recent race at Darlington, a daring move put him in contention for another win.
As Buescher tried to keep his lead from Reddick, he brushed the wall, and Reddick attempted to pass him. Unfortunately, they collided, causing damage to both cars and leaving them with flat tires. This incident also led to Reddick getting a penalty for crossing a commitment line.
Brad Keselowski, who was in third place, then took the lead and won the race.
After the race, Buescher was visibly frustrated and confronted Reddick at his car. Reddick apologized, acknowledging his mistake and expressing regret for wrecking Buescher’s car.
However, Buescher remained upset, emphasizing that they had always raced cleanly in the past and expecting better from Reddick.
Buescher ended up finishing in 30th place and still hasn’t won a race this season. He dropped to 12th place in the series standings.
Reddick, who won a stage and led the most laps in the race, admitted that he made an aggressive move to pass Buescher but wished he hadn’t done so. He understood why Buescher was angry and regretted taking him out of the race as well.
Reddick said he would have been more accepting of the outcome if only he had suffered the consequences of the incident.
He acknowledged the need to make better decisions in the future and maintain cleaner racing.
