During the BMW Group shareholder meeting, CEO Oliver Zipse shared some exciting news about Mini. He said that the Mini Cooper is having a great year. It introduced the Aceman in April, and now, there’s high demand for the new Mini Cooper.
Zipse mentioned that the Mini Cooper is selling so well that it’s completely sold out for the next four months. He also mentioned that there’s a new Mini Convertible on the horizon, but it won’t be available until the second half of this year. These cars are made in Oxford in the UK, China, and, for the first time, in Leipzig, Germany.
Mini is a special brand for people who want small, stylish, and fun cars to drive. The launch of the new Hardtop (now called the Cooper C), Countryman, and Aceman expands the lineup and makes the brand even more appealing.
The new Hardtop has an updated design compared to the previous model, with new technology and the option for either gas or electric power. It also features a large circular touchscreen with Spike, the virtual assistant bulldog, adding to Mini’s playful vibe.
The Aceman is an electric vehicle (EV) that offers up to 215 horsepower and can go 252 miles on a single charge. These are good numbers for an EV used for daily commuting. However, the Aceman won’t be available in the US for now. It’s made in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu, China, which is a concern for the Biden administration.
If you’re looking for a larger Mini, there’s the Countryman. It comes in different versions, like the mild-hybrid Countryman S with up to 241 horsepower and the fully-electric Countryman SE ALL4 with up to 308 horsepower. With its modern design and new technology, the Countryman is a great choice in the compact crossover segment and could attract more customers in the US.
