Carlos, passionate about motorcycle customization, co-founded The Foundry MC with a group of friends in 2011, embarking on an exciting journey of transforming bikes. His extensive experience with motorbikes has been a vibrant mix, beginning with a modest Piaggio Vespino and advancing to more sophisticated models like the BMW R 1150 R and Suzuki SV650.
Recently, The Foundry MC took on a project to revamp a Yamaha XJ600 Diversion, aiming to give it a classic race bike look. This transformation showcased meticulous craftsmanship, including a fresh silver-painted frame, a robust YZF1000R Thunderace swingarm, and an adjustable Hagon shock absorber. Upgraded front forks from an Aprilia RSV1000, paired with premium oil and a lowered stance, enhanced the bike’s handling.
The modifications extend to the bodywork, with a bespoke front fairing housing an aftermarket LED headlight and a streamlined rear end accommodating the TZ250 replica tail. The addition of LED lighting components and a custom license plate holder ensured both functionality and aesthetics.
Underneath the surface, the engine underwent extensive refurbishment, with a focus on top-end components such as pistons, valves, and rings. Ultimately, the decision was made to swap in a fresher powerplant from a 1999-model XJ600, complete with a custom exhaust system and Yoshimura silencer.
The attention to detail is evident in the monochromatic color scheme, accented by neon highlights on components like the wheels. Carlos and The Foundry’s expertise shines through in every aspect of this custom XJ, showcasing their dedication to motorcycle craftsmanship.
