La Bulla began as a stock 2006 Buell XB12X Ulysses. To highlight Giacomo’s talents, let’s first review the donor bike’s specifications. The XB12X features an air-cooled 1,203cc V-twin engine with two valves per cylinder and a 10:1 compression ratio. It produces 103 hp at the crankshaft around 6,800 rpm and reaches a peak torque of 84 pound-feet (114 Nm) at 6,000 rpm.
The braking system includes a 375 mm (14.8-inch) perimeter disc with a six-piston caliper at the front and a 240 mm (9.4-inch) rotor with a single-piston caliper at the rear. While the suspension originally featured Showa components, these have been replaced by Hyperpro internals in the upside-down forks and a new Hyperpro piggyback shock absorber at the rear.
The bike also now has aftermarket laced wheels wrapped in Continental TKC 80 Twinduro tires for improved grip on various terrains. Giacomo cleaned the fuel-bearing frame and swingarm thoroughly after disassembling the bike.
Giacomo Galbiati’s handiwork is evident throughout this motorcycle, a machine that’s equal parts function and industrial chic. A custom high-mounted fender with a sleek pod filter tucked beneath creates a distinctive silhouette at the front, while the twin-headlight assembly with its protective grill hints at the bike’s rugged capabilities.
The rear is a masterpiece of utility, featuring a modified subframe that supports a two-piece saddle, luggage rack, and a boxy taillight with integrated LEDs.
Galbiati’s rebuild extends to the heart of the machine, with a top-shelf DNA pod filter optimizing airflow and a throaty stainless-steel HP Corse exhaust system completing the package.
The tasteful paint job, with pops of orange and a subtle greyish-green base, combined with the brushed aluminum bodywork, ties the entire creation together in a way that’s both beautiful and undeniably purposeful.
