Mercedes-AMG has introduced a new special edition of the SL 63, known as the Manufaktur Golden Coast. This convertible sports car, already impressive, has been further enhanced by Mercedes’ bespoke division, Manufaktur. The standout feature of the Golden Coast edition is its unique Kalahari Gold Magno paint, which is also used for the interior accents.
Adding to the striking paint job, the Manufaktur Golden Coast comes equipped with 21-inch forged wheels featuring a 10 twin-spoke design in matte black. These wheels complement the paint color perfectly, along with black brake calipers featuring white AMG lettering. Even the wheel hubs and rims are color-coordinated with the interior, adding to the cohesive design.
The special edition SL 63 includes several premium packages as standard. This includes the AMG Night Package Exterior, AMG Night Package Exterior II, and AMG Aerodynamic Package. These packages replace traditional chrome elements with high-gloss black finishes on various exterior parts like the front splitter, side mirror caps, and side sill and rear skirt inlays.
Details throughout the car emphasize the theme of black and gold. The iconic Mercedes-Benz star, grille panel trim, and badges are finished in elegant black chrome. The Aerodynamic Package adds subtle enhancements such as a diffuser panel and additional flics on the bodywork, all finished in gloss black to highlight the car’s distinctive paintwork.
Inside, the luxury continues with AMG Performance seats upholstered in black Nappa leather, featuring golden stitching and diamond quilting. These seats include cooling and multi-contour functions for enhanced comfort on long drives.
The Nappa leather-covered AMG Performance steering wheel and AMG-branded floor mats also feature golden stitching. Kalahari Gold-colored trim inlays adorn the center console, door cards, and front seat backrests, reinforcing the exclusive nature of the Golden Coast edition.
Despite its luxurious touches, the Golden Coast edition retains the powerful turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine found in the standard SL 63, producing 577 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds, making it a formidable performer on the road.
Only 100 units of the SL 63 Golden Coast will be produced, ensuring exclusivity for its fortunate owners. While Mercedes has not disclosed pricing details, it is expected to surpass the standard SL 63’s starting price of $187,000. This limited production run and bespoke features make the Manufaktur Golden Coast a coveted choice among luxury car enthusiasts.
