Commemorating a legendary competitor, the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Le Monstre special edition pays homage to the audacious 1950 Cadillac Series 61 that tore up the Le Mans track.
Nicknamed “Le Monstre” (French for “The Monster”), the original race car embodied power and innovation. Packing a 331-cubic-inch V8 under its hood, it churned out 160 horsepower and reached a top speed of 130 mph during the grueling 24-hour endurance race a feat that outpaced its sibling, the Petit Pataud.
Though a sandbank encounter sent Le Monstre plummeting to 35th place early on, its determined driver clawed his way back up the ranks, finishing an impressive 11th, just behind the Petit Pataud. This marked a significant moment in Le Mans history, showcasing the resurgence of American muscle on the international racing scene.
Paying homage to Cadillac’s racing heritage and the 101st running of the legendary Le Mans, a limited-edition CT5-V Blackwing Le Monstre is set to hit the road in early 2025. This exclusive model proudly wears its racing inspiration with a unique design package.
Clad in a Magnus Metal Frost paint job with contrasting Stormhawk Blue carbon fiber accents, the Le Monstre boasts a head-turning presence.
The iconic number 2, a nod to its 1950 predecessor, adorns the doors, while the racing theme continues inside with subtle details like blue stitching and a 3D-printed number 2 on the gear shifter.
Despite the special touches, performance remains uncompromised. The Le Monstre retains the powerful 6.2-liter V8 engine from the standard CT5-V Blackwing, delivering 668 horsepower and 659 lb-ft of torque. With production capped at 101 units, mirroring the year of Le Mans, this collector’s item is sure to be a coveted addition to any enthusiast’s garage.
