A safety issue was identified with a small number of 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokees. The problem dotyczy (do-ty-chi => Polish for “concerns”) is the second-row seatbelt buckle, where the anchor bolt might not be tightened properly.

This could weaken the entire restraint system and compromise passenger safety. FCA US LLC launched an investigation in July 2023 and determined a recall was necessary.

While the automaker describes it as voluntary, the seriousness of the issue suggests it’s a mandatory fix to comply with federal safety standards.

Sticking with the American muscle theme, Dodge will keep the Durango in production until 2025. An all-new version, codenamed D6U, is on the horizon for 2026.

This next-generation Durango will be built on the STLA Large platform, which is also being utilized for the upcoming Jeep Grand Cherokee (codenamed J6U).

The STLA Large platform boasts a versatile range of applications, including the Jeep Wagoneer S, the off-road-focused Recon, and even the Dodge Charger.

Notably, this platform will be the foundation for future Alfa Romeo and Maserati vehicles, including replacements for the Giulia, Stelvio, Quattroporte, and Levante. Chrysler’s revival plan hinges on STLA Large as well, with their first vehicle on this platform confirmed to be a zero-emission SUV.
