A symbol of Maserati’s triumphant return to racing after a long hiatus, the MC12 debuted in 2004. This high-performance road car wasn’t just for show; it served as the foundation for the dominant MC12 GT1 racer.
Between 2004 and 2010, the MC12 GT1 racked up an impressive 27 victories in the FIA GT Championship, conquering the prestigious 24 Hours of Spa three times and securing numerous team, driver, and constructor championships.
To celebrate this racing heritage, Maserati launched the MC20 special series, limited to just 40 units – the MC20 Icona and Leggenda models, each with only 20 examples produced. The MC20 Icona pays homage to the MC12 Stradale of 2004 with a special livery, while also drawing inspiration from the legendary Birdcage Type 61.
Paying homage to Maserati’s racing heritage, the MC20 Icona and Leggenda offer a distinctive visual treat. The Icona boasts a stunning two-tone exterior with Bianco Audace Matte and Blu Stradale complemented by gleaming chrome wheels, blue brake calipers, and a sporty carbon fiber engine cover.
Inspired by a championship race car, the Leggenda takes a different aesthetic approach with a Nero Essenza and Digital Mint Matte combination. Accenting this stealthy look are black trident wheels with contrasting mint highlights and eye-catching yellow Trident logos.
Both these limited-edition masterpieces (only 20 of each will be made) proudly display their heritage on the Nettuno engine with inscriptions like “Icona. Una di 20” or “Leggenda. Una di 20”.
Stepping inside reveals a driver-focused environment featuring lightweight racing seats, a premium Sonus faber sound system, and a luxurious carbon fiber interior – all wrapped around an advanced E-LSD system for exceptional performance.
