Skilled Australian motorcycle customizer Justin Holmes isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty on personal projects that highlight his talents, and his PopBang Classics workshop caters to clients seeking both restoration and complete customization.
This menacing blacked-out bobber is a prime example of his impressive abilities. The bike began its journey as a slightly worn 2011 Harley-Davidson Dyna belonging to Rory.
Its fate became tied to another project, a custom Ironhead Rory had commissioned from Justin. With the Ironhead build demanding a significant amount of time, Rory needed a temporary means of transportation.
He found a 2011 Dyna online, but a serious mountain biking accident left him unable to ride for months. The unused Dyna became the perfect canvas for Justin’s customization expertise. What was initially intended as a simple refresh with some special touches changed into a complete transformation.
The inspiration stemmed from a Rough Crafts Dyna creation, an idea originally suggested by Rory himself.
However, Justin’s work would be far from a mere copy, taking the build in a unique direction. With the bike disassembled, Justin began with the wheels, setting the tone for the rest of the transformed Dyna.
This Harley Dyna went from stock to showstopper thanks to a customer’s vision for a brawnier stance and aggressive tires. The transformation involved a complete overhaul, starting with the wheels.
The rear fender might appear custom-built, but it’s actually a trimmed version of the stock mudguard. A handcrafted saddle wrapped in black leather sits just ahead of it, completing the custom look.
