Kia defied the industry’s whispers of slowing electric vehicle demand by achieving record-breaking sales in the first half of 2024 for the US market.
This accomplishment coincides with the company’s second-highest sales performance for the same period.
Kia hit a significant milestone by delivering close to 30,000 electric vehicles in the first six months, exceeding the impressive mark of 5,000 deliveries each month for the last three months straight.
This translates to a staggering 112% increase year-over-year compared to the first half of 2023, solidifying Kia’s position as a powerhouse in the electric vehicle market.
It boasts a familiar 3.5-liter V6 engine churning out 287 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. This powerful option complements the recently introduced hybrid variant. Pricing starts at $36,500, a slight increase from the 2024 model.
Kia’s sales figures for the first half of 2024 reveal the Sportage as the brand’s champion, mirroring its performance in 2023. The Sportage comes in seven trims, with a base price of $27,190 and reaching $37,990 for the top-of-the-line option. It also offers hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains.
This information also highlights the success of other Kia models like the Telluride and Forte, while showcasing sales figures for the Sorento, Soul, Seltos, and K5. The Stinger, discontinued in 2023, saw the lowest sales, despite a farewell tribute edition.
