Land Rover has revealed the Defender OCTA, its most powerful and agile Defender ever. This new offering boasts a twin-turbocharged V8 engine sourced from BMW, delivering an impressive 626 horsepower and reaching 62 mph in a mere 4 seconds.

This puts the OCTA on par with the ferocious BMW M5 CS in terms of acceleration and power. Despite its sporty prowess, the Defender OCTA stays true to its off-roading heritage.

Land Rover has imbued it with increased ride height and a wider stance for better tackling of challenging terrain.

Upgraded suspension components and innovative 6D Dynamics technology further enhance its off-road capability, allowing it to automatically adjust to various surfaces.

Additionally, revised drive modes, including a dynamic mode specifically tuned for performance-oriented on-road driving, solidify the OCTA’s well-rounded character.

Visually, the OCTA distinguishes itself from other Defenders with muscular flared wheel arches, a redesigned front end, and a unique two-tone paint scheme featuring a black roof and tailgate.

For an even more rugged look, customers can opt for a matte protective film. The OCTA rides on the largest tires ever offered on a production Defender, 33-inch Goodyear All-Terrain rubber, and boasts a four-tailpipe exhaust system for a sportier sound.

Two new exterior colors, Petra Copper and Faroe Green, complement the existing palette and the OCTA Edition One gets exclusive access to Faroe Green along with special Chopped Carbon Fiber accents.

All Defender OCTA models come with a gloss black roof and tailgate for a distinctive contrast. Inside, the OCTA offers a luxurious yet rugged cabin environment.

Heated and ventilated Performance Seats with integrated headrests and increased side bolstering provide exceptional comfort and support.

Land Rover introduces Body and Soul Seat audio in the Defender, offering a truly immersive audio experience.

But how much does this off-road powerhouse cost? Let’s explore the pricing for the OCTA in different regions across the globe.

Compared to its competitors, the Defender OCTA presents a compelling value proposition. In the United States, it starts at $152,000 before destination, undercutting the Mercedes-AMG G 63 by a significant margin.

While the Mercedes-Benz G 550 boasts a similar V8 engine, the OCTA delivers superior performance and a wider range of off-road capability. In its homeland, the UK, the OCTA remains competitive, offering Land Rover’s legendary off-road prowess at a price point below the Mercedes-AMG G 63.

Australian consumers will also find the OCTA attractive, priced strategically between the Mercedes-Benz G 550 and the G 63.
