Gearheads, mark your calendars! The 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed is set to ignite from July 11th to 14th, and Alpine joins the roster with a thrilling display of its automotive heritage and future.
Fresh off its debut at Le Mans, the all-electric Alpine A290 will conquer the famed Goodwood Hillclimb. This electric hot hatch, based on the Renault 5 E-Tech, boasts two output options.
The range-topping GT Performance packs a punch with 217 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque, eclipsing the standard Renault’s 148 horsepower. The A290 also offers a GT trim with 177 horsepower and a 0-62 mph time of 7.4 seconds.
Both variants share the Renault’s 52 kWh battery, enabling a 236-mile driving range. That’s a slight decrease from the Renault’s 249 miles, but still surpasses the MINI Cooper E’s 190-mile range. Refueling (well, recharging) is swift – a 15-80% top-up takes just 30 minutes with a 100 kW connection.
The Alpenglow concept car will steal the show with its futuristic curves, hinting at Alpine’s vision for a hydrogen-powered tomorrow. History buffs won’t be disappointed either the legendary 1975 A110 Group 4 Tour de Corse rally car is primed to conquer the Goodwood Hillclimb, a testament to Alpine’s unwavering rally spirit.
But the excitement doesn’t stop there. The BWT Alpine F1 Team show car will bring the high-octane world of Formula One to Goodwood, with Alpine Academy drivers piloting the machine up the iconic hill.
The event also promises a look into the upcoming Atelier Alpine, where enthusiasts can personalize their modern A110 with a selection of 26 new colors inspired by Alpine’s historic vehicles, alongside a range of exclusive wheels and brake calipers. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the full spectrum of Alpine’s legacy and future aspirations.
