Audi fans have waited years for a return of the high-performance RS 6 sedan. The last iteration, boasting a powerful V10 engine, was available from 2008 to 2011.
Audi seems to be answering their calls with a new high-performance four-door on the horizon, albeit with a twist: it will be badged as the RS 7 under the brand’s updated naming convention. This car will also be offered as an Avant, Audi’s term for station wagon.
While official details are scarce, rumors suggest an aggressive body kit, a tuned chassis, a sportier interior compared to the standard A7, and a potential plug-in hybrid V8 with over 700 horsepower a clear competitor to BMW’s M5 in both sedan and wagon forms.
In the absence of a true RS 6 sedan, some enthusiasts have poured significant resources into transforming the current S6 into their dream RS machine.
These enthusiast-built creations have been nothing short of stunning, and a recent rendering by Instagram user Globalcartizen is no exception.
While this particular vision is a CGI fantasy, its aggressive design and imagined performance leave us wishing it were a reality. Revving up the rumor mill are unofficial renderings showcasing a potential Audi RS 6 Sedan in a head-turning green.
Drawing inspiration from the lauded RS 6 Avant Performance, this theoretical high-performance machine would likely come equipped with the desirable RS Dynamic Package.
This performance-oriented upgrade bolsters the car’s capabilities with a rear sport differential for enhanced handling, a dynamic all-wheel steering system for sharper reflexes, and a raised top speed that lets it stretch its legs to an impressive 174 mph (280 kph).
