The e-bike revolution is in full swing, and even the most prestigious car brands are joining the ride. Porsche’s Cross Performance EXC isn’t just a flashy e-bike with a famous name attached; it’s a symbol of a seismic shift within the automotive industry. Sure, collaborations between carmakers and bicycle companies have existed for decades.

But Porsche’s approach goes a step further. Their strategic acquisition of Fazua, a top manufacturer of e-bike drivetrains, a few years back wasn’t just a casual handshake. It was a calculated move that signaled Porsche’s long-term vision for a stake in the e-bike market.

This investment suggests Porsche is looking beyond a single product and is poised for significant growth as a player in the electric cycling space. Porsche Design isn’t letting the age of their EXC e-bike diminish its appeal. They’ve recently injected fresh energy into the model with two new color options: a vibrant Cartagena Yellow and a sleek Oak Green Metallic Neo that echoes the new Porsche Macan 4S.

This color coordination might spark the question of whether an EXC comes complimentary with a Macan 4S purchase, but unfortunately, that’s not part of the deal. The EXC reigns supreme as the costliest e-bike in Porsche’s lineup, boasting a starting price of $15,665.

This premium price point is a reflection of the EXC’s top-notch features and performance capabilities. Interestingly, the EXC’s popularity has resulted in a complete sell-out on the official website. Porsche Design cites high customer demand as the culprit behind delivery delays, with wait times reaching up to 15 weeks.

However, this extended wait time has a silver lining each EXC is meticulously crafted to the buyer’s specifications, ensuring a truly personalized riding experience. Beyond the high-octane automobiles, Porsche is making waves in the luxury e-bike market. Partnering with a powerhouse in the cycling industry, Rotwild, Porsche brings its design legacy to a new category.

Rotwild, established in 1996, has a proven track record of building premium bikes for world-class athletes. This collaboration merges Porsche’s design language with Rotwild’s expertise in crafting high-performance machines. The result: a collection of meticulously handcrafted e-bikes that epitomize both sophistication and raw power. The Porsche EXC e-bike stands as a prime example of this marriage between elegance and performance.

Packing a punch with a peak torque of 85 Nm (63 lb-ft), the Shimano EP801 motor is the heart of this e-bike’s impressive performance. Partnered with a long-range battery offering up to 630 Wh, it promises an exhilarating ride.

Shimano doesn’t stop there, equipping the bike with its XT Di2 drivetrain for smooth and precise gear changes via a 12-speed cassette. Powerful stopping power comes courtesy of Magura’s MT7 four-piston brakes, ensuring control on any terrain.

This isn’t where the Porsche influence ends. Aligning with their vision of a comprehensive outdoor adventure experience, Porsche collaborates with Garmin on the Porsche x Garmin Epix Pro smartwatch, the perfect companion for your e-biking adventures.
