Stile Italiano’s reputation for boundary-pushing custom motorcycles is well-earned. Their latest creation, a heavily modified BMW R 100 GS, is a testament to their innovative spirit. Starting with a 1991 model, the team at Stile Italiano stripped the bike bare, leaving only the essential components.
A meticulously crafted new subframe was then integrated, accommodating a revised rear suspension setup and showcasing a unique design that allows the monoshock to pass through.
Ohlins suspension components, including inverted forks and a rear shock, were installed and complemented by custom triple clamps and new, larger wheels wrapped in dual-purpose tires. With the foundation laid, Stile Italiano turned their attention to the bike’s aesthetic, transforming it into a visually striking custom motorcycle.
This customized machine boasts a stunning single-piece body. Crafted with flowing curves, it seamlessly integrates the tail section, fuel tank, and front fairing. A handcrafted solo seat, upholstered in a tasteful combination of black leather and grippy suede, adds a touch of luxury. A sleek, circular LED taillight completes the rear, while a lone Hella headlight breaks the smooth line of the front fairing.
Moving to the rider’s perspective, a set of aftermarket handlebars mounted on machined aluminum risers dominates the view. These bars host Domino grips, a high-performance Brembo master cylinder for the front brakes, and minimalist switches. Notably absent are mirrors, keeping the design clean. CNC-milled Tarozzi rearsets round out the bike’s ergonomics, ensuring a comfortable and controlled ride.
The modifications extend beyond aesthetics. The iconic boxer engine receives a performance boost with the installation of 40mm Mikuni carburetors. These are topped with short velocity stacks for improved airflow, while a modern electronic ignition system guarantees a reliable spark. A throaty Virex exhaust now graces the other end of the powerplant, completing the transformation.
