Morex Custom, a Rennes-based establishment, is far from your average motorcycle workshop. Brothers Joan and Kevin Morel have masterfully blended custom bike building with a lifestyle brand, complete with a stylish clothing line and a welcoming restaurant. While their community-focused approach is undeniably fascinating, it’s their exceptional custom motorcycles that truly steal the show.

Take the Phantom, for instance. This stunning one-off, built on a Honda NX650 Dominator chassis, is a testament to Morex’s skill and creativity. The Dominator’s robust reliability and lean profile made it the perfect canvas for this transformation. Stripped down to its bare essentials, the donor bike underwent a meticulous rebuild, resulting in a completely custom machine.

The stock bodywork, wheels, exhaust, and subframe were replaced with bespoke components, including a handcrafted subframe integrated with a sleek tail unit featuring LED lighting. To protect against road debris, the subframe’s underside is shielded by a flat metal plate that doubles as a rear fender.

The Honda NX650 Phantom, a custom creation by Morex, is a minimalist masterpiece blending classic lines with modern components. Its heart, a revamped single-cylinder engine, breathes freely through an aftermarket filter and expels exhaust gases via a custom stainless steel pipe.

The chassis has undergone a significant transformation, featuring a KTM-sourced inverted front fork, Excel rims wrapped in dual-purpose tires, and upgraded braking components. The cockpit is stripped back to essentials, with a Motogadget Motoscope Mini instrument cluster and high-quality control elements. The bike’s aesthetic is a mix of gloss black and raw metal, giving it a rugged yet refined character.
