Ford has doubled down on its Maverick lineup with a flurry of announcements. Just a day after revealing a refreshed 2025 Maverick with enhanced tech, a bolder design, and the highly anticipated AWD hybrid option, the Blue Oval introduced the performance-oriented Maverick Lobo.
This comes hot on the heels of Hyundai’s updated Santa Cruz, a rival aiming to steal Maverick’s thunder with a revamped exterior, upgraded interior, and advanced features. However, Ford’s rapid-fire strategy ensures the Maverick remains a formidable competitor, with the Lobo promising to cater to those seeking a thrilling driving experience in a compact truck package.
Following the successful return of the Ford Maverick, the Blue Oval brand expands the lineup with a new performance-oriented variant the 2025 Maverick Lobo. Inspired by the lowered truck trend of the past and an SEMA show standout, the Lobo targets drivers who crave a stylish and sporty street truck experience.
Borrowing parts from its siblings, the Bronco Sport and Focus ST, the Lobo boasts a lowered suspension, upgraded brakes, and a twin-clutch rear drive unit for enhanced handling. Under the hood, the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine remains, but with a revamped cooling system to match the Lobo’s increased performance.
Visually, the Lobo stands out with a unique front fascia, black painted roof, and 19-inch black wheels. Inside, the street theme continues with graffiti-inspired accents and Lobo branding throughout the cabin. Priced from $40,495, the Maverick Lobo sits atop the lineup, offering a unique blend of performance and style for urban adventurers.
