Treyten Lapcevich, the 2023 NASCAR Canada champion, has made a successful transition to the U.S. racing scene. After capturing seven victories in 14 races in his home country, he joined Chad Bryant Racing to compete full-time in the CARS Tour.

Despite facing challenges, including a late-race incident that nearly derailed his chances, Lapcevich demonstrated exceptional skill and composure to secure his first series win.

The 20-year-old Canadian driver expressed immense gratitude to his team and supporters, attributing the victory to their collective efforts and a well-prepared race car.

Lapcevich had a lucky escape with just four laps to go when he encountered a slick patch of oil on the track, nearly causing a collision. Despite his previous success with eight top-10 finishes in ten races, the young driver had yet to lead a lap until Saturday night’s rain-delayed NASCAR All-Star event.

Starting fourth, he quickly moved up to second at the Lap 50 caution and eventually overtook Queen for the lead with 57 laps remaining.

The race was a star-studded affair, featuring former Cup champion Kevin Harvick, Xfinity Series regulars Brandon Jones and Sammy Smith, Truck Series rookie Layne Riggs, and series points leader Connor Hall. A multi-car pileup early on, triggered by a restart, sidelined several drivers, including Hall and his championship rival Brent Crews.
