Yamaha’s Wolverine RMAX4 1000 is a formidable entry into the highly competitive side-by-side market. Arriving hot on the heels of Polaris’ RZR refresh, this four-seater boasts a formidable presence. Under the hood lies a potent 999cc twin-cylinder engine, expertly managed by Yamaha’s drive-by-wire technology and the reliable Ultramatic transmission.

Beyond raw power, the RMAX4 1000 impresses with its robust chassis, featuring a lengthy wheelbase, generous ground clearance, and meticulously tuned suspension. These attributes, combined with the vehicle’s commanding stature, position it as a serious contender for off-road dominance.

Yamaha has invested substantial effort into creating a side-by-side that not only matches but potentially surpasses the competition, setting a new benchmark in the industry. The Yamaha Wolverine is a versatile utility vehicle designed to excel in both work and recreational environments.

Its impressive capabilities stem from a robust foundation, including aggressive 30-inch Maxxis Carnivore tires that provide exceptional traction and enable the Wolverine to effortlessly tow up to 2,000 pounds.

The innovative piston-assist dumping cargo bed can accommodate 600 pounds of payload, further enhancing its utility. Available in XT-R and Limited trims, both Wolverines feature an advanced On-Command 4WD system with rapid engagement and disengagement, offering selectable 2WD, 4WD limited slip, 4WD full-differential lock, and Turf Mode configurations to suit varying terrain and conditions.

A standard Warn VRX 4,500-pound winch adds to the Wolverine’s off-road prowess. Inside the cabin, drivers and passengers enjoy a comfortable and technologically advanced experience with a seven-inch touchscreen display providing navigation, vehicle information, and Bluetooth connectivity.

A host of modern amenities, such as interior lighting, adjustable seatbelts, ample storage compartments, and a waterproof dashboard, raise the Wolverine’s interior to a level typically found in passenger vehicles.

The 2025 Wolverine RMAX4 1000 is a versatile powerhouse designed to conquer challenging terrains while providing comfort and utility. Its rear compartment, featuring a spacious 23-liter dry storage area and a convenient USB charging port, exemplifies this blend of adventure and practicality.

The cabin is thoughtfully engineered for off-road conditions, with soft touchpoints, rear passenger grip handles, and textured footrests enhancing the driving experience. While the XT-R model offers a robust foundation, the Limited trim raises the experience with premium features such as a rearview camera and an informative TFT meter.

Manufactured in Newnan, Georgia, the Wolverine RMAX4 1000 is set to hit dealerships this fall. However, given its advanced capabilities and luxurious amenities, it’s expected to command a premium price.
