Pininfarina, the storied Italian design house, has transitioned from crafting iconic designs for others to building its automotive masterpiece. The Battista, an electric hypercar named in honor of the company’s founder, debuted at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, signaling a bold new chapter. Production, which commenced in 2022, has revealed a series of extraordinary vehicles, each a testament to Pininfarina’s commitment to personalization.

The latest, a groundbreaking open-top model showcased at Monterey Car Week, represents a pinnacle of bespoke craftsmanship. This one-off creation, the world’s first coach-built electric hypercar, features a meticulously modified carbon fiber structure to accommodate a Targa roof.

Its striking silver and blue livery is a nod to the legendary Ferrari Testarossa Spider, a previous Pininfarina triumph, underscoring the company’s enduring legacy in automotive design. The Pininfarina Battista Targamerica is a bespoke hypercar that represents the zenith of automotive engineering and luxury.

Its heart lies in a quartet of electric motors, each independently powering a wheel and collectively delivering a mind-boggling 1,900 horsepower and 2,340 Newton-meters of torque. This immense power is harnessed from a 120 kWh lithium-ion battery, propelling the car from a standstill to 62 miles per hour in less than two seconds and ultimately to a top speed of 186 mph.

To match its exhilarating performance, the Battista Targamerica rolls on custom-forged, ceramic-polished five-spoke alloy wheels. The interior is a sanctuary of opulence, meticulously crafted to the owner’s specifications with a harmonious blend of tan and black leather.

A unique feature is the aluminum and glass cigar humidor nestled between the seats, its illumination synchronizing with the car’s dynamic driving modes: Calma, Pura, Energica, Furiosa, and Carattere.

While the exact cost remains a closely guarded secret, it’s evident that expense was not a consideration for the discerning car collector who commissioned this extraordinary vehicle. The Battista Targamerica is more than just a car; it’s a rolling testament to human ingenuity and unbridled automotive passion.
