Audi has revealed its updated RS 3 lineup, a pair of high-performance models that come with a substantial price tag. The Ingolstadt automaker promises a sensory overload, but the hefty cost is likely to temper enthusiasm for many. The RS 3 sedan, in particular, has garnered attention for its Nürburgring Nordschleife lap record, eclipsing the BMW M2’s time.
Audi credits this achievement to refined chassis technology that allows for increased cornering speeds. After months of anticipation, the 2025 Audi RS 3, available in both Sportback and sedan configurations, is finally here.
With its aggressive styling, potent engine, and advanced handling, the RS 3 aims to solidify Audi’s position as a leader in the high-performance compact car segment. However, whether its performance justifies the premium price remains to be seen. The Audi RS 3 has undergone a comprehensive update, boasting not only an impressive new lap record but also a striking visual overhaul.
Its sporty character is amplified with aggressive front styling, a fascinating diffuser, carbon accents, and a driver-focused cockpit complete with RS bucket seats and a flat-bottom steering wheel.
Beyond aesthetics, the RS 3 benefits from refined chassis control systems that enhance cornering prowess, complemented by newly standard performance tires. Under the skin, the iconic 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine remains unchanged, delivering 395 horsepower in Europe and 401 horsepower in the US.
While the RS 3 Sedan is exclusively offered in America, European markets enjoy the additional Sportback option, joining a competitive segment that includes Cupra models, the practical Skoda Octavia RS, and the ever-popular Golf R.
With a starting price of €66,000 for the Sportback in Germany, the refreshed RS 3 commands a premium, though the sedan surprisingly carries a €2,000 price hike.
