To access this enhanced functionality, owners will need a Plus Speech with AI subscription in Volkswagen Car-Net.
The update will be automatically available for eligible ID.4 owners with active subscriptions, while newer models, including those equipped with a 62-kWh battery, will receive it later this year. For those who own the ID.4, ID. Buzz, GTI, Golf R, or Tiguan, the Plus Speech with AI subscription is included for a specific period.
The 2025 Jetta, Jetta GLI, and Taos will offer the option to purchase the subscription through the myVW mobile app. For Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport owners, ChatGPT integration is slated for 2026. With ChatGPT’s integration, Volkswagen’s IDA voice assistant will be able to understand and respond to a wider range of voice commands, making it easier for drivers to control various vehicle functions.
