Chevrolet’s 1958 full-size lineup marked a significant departure from previous models. The Impala, initially a part of the Bel Air series, was introduced as a standalone Sport Coupe and convertible. This bold move paid off, as the Impala quickly became the best selling car in the United States, dominating the domestic market for nearly a decade.

Powered by a range of six-cylinder and V8 engines, the Impala offered a variety of performance options. The base 235 six-cylinder engine, while not the most powerful, provided a comfortable and economical ride.

For those seeking more performance, the 283 Turbo-Fire V8 was a popular choice. The Super Turbo-Fire, with its four-barrel carburetor, offered even more power for a small additional cost. The 1958 Chevrolet Impala, a full-size beauty, was initially powered by a 348 cubic inch engine.

This engine, available in various configurations, including two Super Turbo-Thrust versions with three two-barrel carburetors, offered impressive power. A fuel-injected 283 engine was also an option, but despite its 290 horsepower, it was less popular. The Impala’s price could skyrocket with numerous available options like air conditioning, air suspension, and power windows. This particular white-on-turquoise Impala, already restored, is a pristine example of this iconic 1958 model, perfect for leisurely drives.

The classic Impala has been given a fresh coat of paint, though it’s no longer the original Ermine White. Despite the repaint, the car looks professional, and a personal inspection is recommended to fully appreciate its condition, especially given the extensive overhaul. The interior has also been completely redone with new turquoise upholstery, and the owner claims a remarkable 9.5-point condition, requiring minimal effort for a perfect 10.

Under the hood, a powerful 283ci V8 engine paired with a new four-barrel carburetor ensures a smooth and exhilarating driving experience. The Impala’s solid metal construction guarantees durability and rust resistance, though a thorough inspection of the undercarriage is still recommended to assess any potential metal repairs or original panels.

Considering the Impala’s striking appearance and excellent condition, it’s no surprise that the auction has already generated significant interest. With 22 bids and a top offer of $30K, the car’s popularity is evident. However, the owner has set a reserve price, and the current bidding has not yet reached that threshold.

Given the auction’s five-day duration and increasing watchlist additions, there’s a strong possibility that someone will secure this coveted Impala. Located in North Royalton, Ohio, the Impala is ready to hit the road and turn heads wherever it goes.
