Acura is poised to expand its electric vehicle lineup beyond the ZDX, a model co-developed with General Motors. While the ZDX currently serves as the brand’s sole EV, plans are underway to introduce new electric models, including one previewed by the Performance EV Concept at Monterey Car Week.

This concept, expected to launch in late 2025 or early 2026, will be based on a new platform. Additionally, Acura is exploring an electric RDX replacement, potentially following a rumored 2025 model year update.

Furthermore, reports suggest a larger electric SUV is in the works, potentially rivaling the Hyundai Ioniq 9 and Kia EV9. This model, rumored to share the MDX nameplate, was reportedly showcased at a dealer meeting earlier this year.

The hypothetical Acura MDX EV, envisioned by vburlapp on Instagram, has drawn comparisons to Buick models due to its design elements.

With minor adjustments, such as a different grille and other tweaks, this concept could potentially serve as a zero-emission successor to the Buick Envision.
