The Xpeng Aeroht Land Aircraft Carrier, a modular flying car revealed at CES in January, offers a look into the future of transportation. Unlike traditional flying car concepts that rely on a single vehicle for both ground and air travel, the Land Aircraft Carrier separates these functions into distinct modules.

This approach offers several advantages, such as improved safety, flexibility, and efficiency. The ground module, essentially a six-wheeled electric van, can be driven on regular roads with a standard license.

Its powerful electric powertrain, coupled with a range extender, provides a long driving range of up to 1,000 kilometers. The air module, a separate aircraft that can be stored within the van, is designed for low altitude flights. It can be easily detached and flown to explore remote areas or access hard to reach locations.

The modular design of the Land Aircraft Carrier also allows for customization and scalability. The ground module can be adapted for various purposes, such as camping, cargo transportation, or even living accommodations. The air module can be upgraded with different features or capabilities, such as increased range, payload capacity, or autonomous flight.

The Xpeng Aeroht Land Aircraft Carrier represents a significant step forward in the development of flying cars. Its innovative modular design, advanced technology, and potential applications make it a promising candidate for the future of transportation. As the company continues to refine and develop this concept, it could revolutionize the way we travel and explore the world.

A groundbreaking new transportation system has been revealed, featuring a unique combination of a land vehicle and a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft. The land vehicle, equipped with electronically operated double-hinged doors, can securely store and transport the aircraft. Notably, the land vehicle can also charge the aircraft, providing enough power for up to six flights.

The VTOL aircraft, resembling a shipping container with propellers, offers panoramic views and is capable of vertical takeoffs and landings thanks to its six-axis, six-propeller dual-ducted fan design. Unlike the land vehicle, the aircraft does not require a license to operate. Xpeng Aeroht, the company behind this innovative system, has developed a single-lever control system that simplifies the operation of the VTOL aircraft.

This intuitive control system eliminates the need for complex dual-hand and dual-foot controls, making it accessible to a wider range of users. With just five minutes of training, individuals can learn to operate the VTOL aircraft, and proficiency can be achieved within three hours. In addition to manual operation, the VTOL aircraft can also be operated autonomously.

Equipped with advanced safety features such as aerial perception and obstacle avoidance, the aircraft can independently perform tasks like takeoff, landing, and even flight along pre-set paths. The VTOL aircraft connects to the land vehicle through a unique onboard automatic separation and reconnection mechanism, ensuring precise mating and detachment. Once removed from the vehicle, the aircraft deploys its propeller support arms, and it’s ready for flight.

This groundbreaking transportation system has the potential to revolutionize travel, offering a convenient and efficient mode of transportation for both urban and rural areas. Equipped with advanced safety features, including triple redundancy in flight control and navigation systems, the VTOL can take off and land vertically from any flat surface.

The company plans to deploy a fleet of 200 flying cars in China by the end of the year and is confident that the technology will be used for a variety of applications, including medical rescues, disaster relief, and urban transportation.
