Cadillac, General Motors’ premium brand, is poised to surpass Chevrolet in terms of model completeness. While Chevrolet will discontinue its Malibu sedan and Camaro, Cadillac maintains a diverse lineup of sedans, SUVs, and crossovers. Despite lacking a pickup truck, Cadillac’s range of models, including the flagship Celestiq EV and the upcoming Vistiq crossover, positions it as a more comprehensive automaker.

Cadillac’s lineup includes two sedan series, each with regular, V-Series, and Blackwing performance variants. The brand also offers a luxury flagship sedan, the Celestiq, which is electric. In addition, Cadillac has a strong presence in the SUV and crossover market with seven current models and one more on the way.

The XT4, XT5, XT6, and Escalade represent the brand’s ICE-powered offerings, while the Optiq, Lyriq, Escalade IQ, and upcoming Vistiq showcase Cadillac’s commitment to electric vehicles. While some Cadillac enthusiasts may yearn for the return of a two-door personal luxury car, the current automotive world favors crossovers, SUVs, and trucks. This trend is evident not only in the real world but also in digital car content creation, where imaginative designers often envision Cadillac pickup truck concepts.

The AutoYa YouTube channel has brought to life a digital vision of a resurrected Cadillac Escalade EXT pickup truck. This luxury pickup, originally produced between 2002 and 2013, enjoyed two generations but ultimately failed to gain significant traction. However, AutoYa’s artists believe they have the recipe for a successful revival, drawing inspiration from the upcoming 2025 Escalade refresh.

They envision the new EXT in various configurations: with short or long wheelbases, powered by a traditional gasoline V8, a potent supercharged V8, or even an electric motor. This hypothetical revival could capitalize on the growing trend of upscale pickups and luxury SUVs.

The AutoYa team’s vision for the Escalade EXT is ambitious and intriguing. By combining the luxury and comfort of the Escalade with the versatility and utility of a pickup truck, they believe they can create a vehicle that appeals to a wide range of consumers. The short and long wheelbase options would offer flexibility for different needs, while the choice of powertrains would allow customers to select the right vehicle for their driving style and preferences.

The Escalade EXT’s potential success would also be driven by the increasing popularity of luxury pickups and SUVs. As consumers demand more upscale and sophisticated vehicles, the EXT could fill a niche in the market.

Its combination of luxury, performance, and utility could make it a compelling option for those seeking a premium vehicle that can handle a variety of tasks.

While the AutoYa vision of the Escalade EXT is currently just a digital concept, it is a testament to the creativity and imagination of the channel’s artists. If the vehicle were to be brought to production, it could potentially become a significant player in the luxury pickup market.
