Imagine a Land Rover Range Rover Velar, but instead of its usual engine, it’s packing a twin-turbo Lamborghini V10 in the back. Yes, you read that right. This wild custom build is turning heads, and for good reason. With an eye-popping 1,900 horsepower, this trophy truck might be one of the most insane creations we’ve ever seen.
The Build From Velar to Beast
This outrageous project started about six months ago when Craig Hall from Hall Designs got his hands on a Baja Class 1 buggy chassis. Originally a fully operational buggy, the team decided to transform it into something far more extreme—a trophy truck with the body of a nearly-new Range Rover Velar.
In the build’s first video, the team shows how they stripped down the buggy, cutting it apart to make it fit the Velar’s body. Then, they moved on to the Velar, which had been slightly damaged in the front.
It still looked almost brand new when it arrived, but that didn’t last long. The team cut it up as well, keeping only the body shell and some of the interior.
The Engine Lamborghini Power
The heart of this beast is where things really get wild. In Episode 4 of the series, the team dropped a twin-turbo V10 Lamborghini engine into the rear of the chassis.
This engine came from a crashed Lamborghini Huracán, which had previously made an astonishing 1,700 horsepower at the wheels. But that wasn’t enough for this build. The team upgraded the turbos, so now the engine is expected to push out an insane 1,900 horsepower. That’s more power than most supercars on the road today.
To match the engine’s might, the Velar has been fitted with massive off-road tires that extend far beyond the body. Gigantic King shocks with bypasses and remote reservoirs keep the truck’s custom suspension system in check, ensuring it can handle the roughest terrain.
Luxury Meets Off-Road Madness
What’s truly impressive is how much of the original Range Rover Velar was retained. Despite the insane power and off-road mods, the build still has the factory dashboard, and the team even managed to install McLaren 720S seats in the cabin.
The center console, complete with rear HVAC vents, also made the cut, making this trophy truck a mix of high performance and luxury—a combination you rarely see in an off-road vehicle.
In Episode 6, we see the truck nearing completion. The wide fenders are in place, the cabin is sealed, and finishing touches are being added. Even the power hatch actuators are still intact, though they haven’t been wired up yet.
