Jaguar Land Rover has issued a safety recall for a small number of sport utility vehicles in the United States due to a faulty near field sensing module (NFSM). The module may overheat, causing the 3D surround camera images, including the rearview camera image, to fail.

This issue is a result of a manufacturing error that led to missing thermal interface material, which can cause the module to overheat and reset.

The recall affects 180 vehicles produced in 2024, including the Land Rover Discovery Sport, Defender, Range Rover Evoque, Velar, Sport, and Range Rover. Jaguar Land Rover will replace the faulty modules at no cost to owners.

The recall is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of drivers and passengers. The loss of rearview camera functionality can significantly increase the risk of accidents, especially in low-visibility conditions.

Jaguar Land Rover has been working diligently to address this issue since it was first identified. The company has already begun notifying affected vehicle owners and is encouraging them to schedule an appointment with their local dealer to have the faulty module replaced.

Jaguar Land Rover has issued a recall for several of its SUV models due to a potential safety issue. The affected vehicles include the Defender, Range Rover Evoque, Discovery Sport, and Range Rover. The recall is due to a problem with the production process, which may have caused certain components to be improperly installed. This could potentially lead to a safety hazard if the affected component fails.

Owners of affected vehicles will be notified by mail, but can also check the status of their vehicle online using the automaker’s recall page or the NHTSA’s website. The recall affects vehicles with VINs beginning with “SA,” which indicates that they were assembled in Slovakia. The recall is expected to be completed by October 25, 2025.

Jaguar Land Rover is taking this recall very seriously and is working to address the issue as quickly as possible. Owners of affected vehicles are encouraged to contact their local dealer or Jaguar Land Rover customer service for more information.
