When a special client was impressed by the beauty of this natural phenomenon, Rolls-Royce’s Bespoke Collective accepted the challenge.
The Rolls-Royce Spectre Lunaflair
A lunar halo occurs when light passes through ice crystals in high-altitude clouds, creating a colorful ring around the moon.
Rolls-Royce used this as inspiration to create a stunning, color-shifting paint that changes as you move around the car.
It took over a year to develop the Spectre Lunaflair’s unique finish. The paint consists of seven layers, including a pearlescent coat filled with magnesium fluoride and aluminum flakes.
These layers create a holographic effect, making the car’s exterior shimmer and shift colors like a rainbow. This intricate paint job is one of Spectre Lunaflair’s standout features, alongside the luxurious design Rolls-Royce is famous for.
Inside the car, the lunar theme continues with a sophisticated combination of Navy Blue, White, and Peony Pink, reflecting the colors of a lunar halo. Even the Starlight Headliner and seats have been designed to match this celestial concept.
Only one Rolls-Royce Spectre Lunaflair will ever be made. This unique creation was inspired by another exclusive project, the Phantom Syntopia, which also featured a color-shifting paint finish.
