The BMW R nineT, a motorcycle designed with customization in mind, has captured the imagination of the custom bike community. Its mechanical prowess, coupled with its versatility, has inspired countless builders to create unique and stunning interpretations.

One such example is the work of Zombie Gelato in Belfast, Northern Ireland, who transformed a 2017 R nineT Pure into a menacing scrambler. Zombie Gelato’s vision for the R nineT was to create a bike that was both imposing and functional.

They started by stripping the bike down to its essentials and then rebuilding it from the ground up. The rear subframe was replaced with a custom made unit that was both lighter and stronger. The bike’s new look was completed with a set of triangular aluminum side panels, an LED lighting strip, and a discreet inner fender.

The result is a bike that is both visually striking and capable of handling any terrain. The R nineT’s 1,170cc boxer-twin engine provides plenty of power, and its suspension and brakes are up to the task of handling any challenge. This custom bike is a testament to the R nineT’s versatility and the creativity of its builders.

The BMW R nineT, once a bulky and uninspiring machine, has been transformed into a sleek and stylish scrambler by the skilled hands of Zombie Gelato. The stock license plate holder has been replaced with a custom one, and the bench seat has been reupholstered in a combination of black leather and suede. The front end has also undergone a significant makeover, with a high-mounted mudguard, an LED headlight, and a billet top clamp.

The original fuel tank remains, but its contours are now subtly disguised by a black paint job. To enhance the bike’s off-road capabilities, chunky Continental TKC 80 tires have been fitted to the OEM hoops. The engine remains unchanged internally, but it has been given a performance boost with K&N air filters and a custom exhaust system.

The bike has been painted entirely in black, with small pinches of bare metal and a touch of white paint on the shock spring. Monochrome BMW roundels have been added to the gas tank to complement the color scheme. The transformation of the R nineT is more than just cosmetic.

The bike now has a more aggressive and purposeful stance, thanks to the raised mudguard, the new handlebars, and the chunky tires. The black paint job gives the bike a sinister and menacing look, while the small touches of bare metal and white paint add a touch of personality.

The custom exhaust system gives the bike a deep and throaty sound, and the K&N air filters provide a boost in power. The R nineT is now a much more versatile and enjoyable bike to ride. It is still capable of cruising down the highway, but it is also capable of tackling dirt roads and trails. The bike is now a true scrambler, and it is sure to turn heads wherever it goes.
