The 2025 MINI Convertible is a stylish and fun to drive city car that offers a fully automatic 18 second fabric roof. However, its high price tag starting at $33,950 for the Cooper model might deter some buyers. For instance, the 2025 Ford Mustang EcoBoost Convertible, offering more power and space, starts at $40k.
And the more affordable 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata, with 181 horsepower, is available for just $29k. While the US market lacks small, cute convertibles at a reasonable price, the MINI Convertible has its appeal. One of the main attractions of the MINI Convertible is its unique design. The car’s small, rounded shape and retro styling make it instantly recognizable.
The interior is also well appointed, with high quality materials and plenty of features. The MINI Convertible is also very fun to drive. Its agile handling and powerful engines make it a joy to drive on winding roads. Another advantage of the MINI Convertible is its versatility. The car can be used for a variety of purposes, from commuting to weekend getaways.
The folding roof allows you to enjoy the open air driving experience whenever you want. While the MINI Convertible is not the most affordable convertible on the market, it is certainly one of the most stylish and fun to drive. If you are looking for a small, cute convertible that is packed with personality, the MINI Convertible is worth considering.
Unfortunately, the US market will only be receiving the base Cooper and Cooper S models of the new MINI Convertible. The Cooper is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 161 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, while the Cooper S boasts 201 horsepower and 221 pound feet of torque. The fully automatic soft top can be activated at speeds above 18 miles per hour, and when closed, the sunroof can open up to 15.7 inches.
The exterior of the new MINI Convertible maintains the iconic design language of the MINI brand, while the interior features a modern and advanced cockpit similar to the newer electric models and the Countryman. The luggage compartment offers 160 liters of storage with the soft top down and expands to 215 liters when the roof is closed.
US market models will be available with distinctive 17 and 18 inch wheels and two trim levels: Classic Style and Favored Style. Additionally, there will be eleven exterior color options to choose from. The Classic Style trim features a three-spoke leather look steering wheel with colored accent stitching and optional Vescin synthetic leather seats.
The instrument panel and doors feature a black and blue knitted surface. The Favored Style trim includes JCW sports seats, a grey-beige houndstooth fabric instrument panel, and knitted door panels.
