Earlier this year, Porsche introduced the 992.2-generation 911, showcasing the base Carrera model and the GTS equipped with an innovative T-Hybrid powertrain. The 911 lineup is extensive and varied, akin to a deep NFL roster, indicating that even more 992.2 variants are on the horizon. The first GT model from this generation is scheduled to make its appearance on Friday, October 18, at 12:30 p.m. ET, generating anticipation among car enthusiasts.

To build excitement for the upcoming reveal, Porsche has shared a teaser image highlighting the side profile of the new 911, which is partially hidden in shadows. This photograph hints at some intriguing design elements, such as a pronounced rear wing featuring a swan-neck design similar to that of the previous 991.1-generation GT3. Additionally, a roll bar is visible through the rear window, and the presence of a helmeted driver implies that this model is engineered with racetrack performance in mind.

Alongside the teaser, Porsche confirmed that two variants of the new 992.2 model will be presented at the same time. This likely refers to the GT3, complete with a wing, and the GT3 Touring, which opts for a more understated appearance. Both models are expected to launch in 2027, broadening the appeal of the 911 lineup to various preferences among automotive enthusiasts.

The launch event will be hosted by Andreas Preuninger, the director of the GT model line, with appearances from brand ambassadors Walter Röhrl and Jörg Bergmeister. The reveal will be live-streamed on Porsche’s YouTube channel, where the company has promised to highlight the car’s unique features and innovative details. Car enthusiasts are eagerly waiting for additional insights and information, which will be disclosed on Friday afternoon.
